& Resurrection ( 3 days & 3 nights )

1)Thursday ( one night ) - late evening ( start counting )
- beginning of Hebrew Calendar(14 th Nissan )
- also preparation day
- this is when the Lord's supper took place 🌟Matt 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:14-16
-Jesus was betrayed on late Thursday evening & this is the beginning of 3 days , 3 nights (Matt 17:22-23, Mark 9:31, 14:41, Luke 24:7)
- Matt 13:40 mentioned the heart of the earth = when Jesus was betrayed = when three days three nights began as prophesied in Matt 12:40
- this day also the preparation day for Lord's Passover ( unleavened Bread )- Matt 26:17
2)Friday - (+one night + one day )
-Hebrew day begins & ends at sunset
- Hebrew Calendar (15th Nissan - ninth hour )
- trial took place in the morning ( still 14th Nissan )
- crucification took place at 9am( third hour - Mark 15:25)
-Jesus was crucified in the afternoon, died at 3pm( ninth hour)- ( counting one night here )
- he was laid on the tombstone on Friday before sunset ( between 3pm - 6pm)as no one can work on sabbath day . Luke 23:56 and His body can not remain on the Cross on Sabbath day )
- after sunset , new day start after 6 pm
Note :Jesus was crucified the same hour( ninth hour ) as same Passover ritual in Exo 12:6 & lev 23:5. On this day the slained lamb & is only for the Lord
3)Saturday ( one night+ one day )
- 7th day or sabbath day
- "no works "are mandated
- the watch guard begins at the end of the Sabbath day ( Matt 27:66)
- note end of sabbath is after dawn around 6pm when Mary bring spices to the tomb
- OT ( original Passover in Egypt, late evening , the sacrifice lamb were eaten & death of Egyptian first born )
4)Sunday (day )
- the 3rd day = the day after tomorrow = not full 3 days( Luke 13:33)= inclusive reckoning in Jewish context ( 1 king 12:5,12), also Esther 4:16-17, 5:1
- 1st day of the week
-this means Jesus was resurrected On the third day.
- Jesus appeared to on the third day ( Luke 24:21)
- OT ( original Passover in Egypt - Israel set free )
